Tata Motors launches ACE EV - The all new e-cargo transport

While the global automotive manufacturers are exploring passenger and commercial vehicles to go for an electric or hybrid mode, Tata Motors has paved the way to go all electric in the cargo transport sector!

The Revolution
We are aware of the efforts invested by automobile companies to come up with clean and sustainable electric vehicles and Tata Motors is no behind in the race. The manufacturer had first launched Tigor EV followed by Nexon EV and now it has revolutionised the cargo transport in India with its new launch Ace EV - a small commercial vehicle (SCV).
The company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with leading e-commerce companies and logistics service providers - Amazon, BigBasket, City Link, DOT, Flipkart, LetsTransport, MoEVing and Yelo E. It includes delivering 39,000 units of Ace EVs, setting up EV support centres and building an ecosystem for Tata Group of Companies.

Under the hood
The Tata Ace EV is the first product featuring Tata Motors' EVOGEN powertrain that offers a certified range of 154 kms. It delivers a safe, all-weather operation with an advanced battery cooling system and regenerative braking system to boost the driving range. The vehicle allows regular and fast charging capabilities for high uptime. It is powered by a 27kW (36hp) motor with 130Nm of peak torque, to ensure highest cargo volume of 208 ft3 and grade-ability of 22% allowing easy ascend in fully loaded conditions. The Ace EV’s container is made of light-weight, durable materials that perfectly suit the requirements of e-commerce logistics.

Exciting times ahead
This paradigm shift of companies moving to a portfolio comprising of all-electric vehicles that would be plying on the road in near times, sounds exciting and promising. It would also be interesting to see how other automobile manufacturers would compete in this EV space and be the first-in-market with revolutionary products!
